I asked my son to pose for 3 minutes in this 6 minute exposure and the walk away from the composition. This is how it turned out. It’s both interesting and fun to experiment with the long exposure technique and you can use it in so many different situations. Photo taken in the northern parts of Sweden – Jämtland in June.

  1. I am going to have to study your blog. Every post. This shot is amazing. I’ve got to try it. But how do you have a six minute exposure during the day? Or was it night really night time but just looks like day?

    • Thank you so much for your kind words Emilio. I shot this pic in the evening. However. The light is really special in the northern parts of Sweden in June and July and i used a 10 stop ND filter to get a long exposure. It’s a very interesting way to shoot.

      • You are the second person to mention a 10 stop ND filter. I had forgotten about that. Will have to buy one. There’s just so much to learn and to get excited about with photography. I guess that is true with any hobby.

  2. Longexpo shooting is very interesting. Try to google it and you learn more about it and what you can do. You will need a 10 stop ND filter (i use B+W) a remote (wire or wireless) ducktape to cover the viewfinder (to avoid light leaking) a tripod and a calculating app (i use NDfiltercalculator & sheet)
